  • Once again, you have to apply for entrance to the Imperial Agency in the palace complex. Turn up at the appointed time and enjoy the tour. Actually, since this palace is of later construction than the...  more »
  • The Sendong Imperial Palace is the imperial palace of the emperor who was defeated from the throne. It is used as a dormitory by the Emperor and Empress now. The garden is connected by digging and there is a large garden of the round-the-wall type which is united. Inside the imperial palace, there is the "Kyoto Omiya Imperial Palace Imperial Palace", which is still used by the Emperor and Empress and the Crown Prince, and the garden has a vast pond with a novel sense with a straight shore of Masonry. I was surprised to see 111,000 stones laid on the pond's state beach with flat grains. In addition, I was impressed by many buildings such as the unique tea room of The Awakening Flower Tea And Tashintei. In addition, there are a lot of autumn leaves in the garden when autumn comes, so I would like to take a walk around the autumn leaves bridge.

  • Huge, nice, quiet and relaxing place. It's not overcrowded but you need a reservation and a guide to get in. However, the surrounding park is also very large, nice and quiet and you can visit it at any time without need to worry about the entrance.
  • Probably the best Japanese garden I've seen. There are only FREE, limited guided tours (3 per day, about 35 persons) that you need to book in advance on the internet or next to the entrance during the morning. The tour is in Japanese, but audio guides are offered in several languages for free upon arrival. You must follow the indicated route with the guide, but unlike other Japanese gardens in Kyoto you have plenty of space and time to enjoy the views and take your pictures. The buildings around are not that impressive, but they have some interesting story behind. A totally recommended visit while in Kyoto. Personal tip: Be at the entrance about 11 to get reserve your ticket (bring your passport!), book for the 2 or 3 PM slot and go to the Nijo castle while you wait.
