  • We took the Sakamoto Cable Car which was a scenic ride and visited a few of the Enryakuji temples which had beautiful orange red structures. Locals rang the bell at the top to pray for good luck in th...  more »
  • Beverly Hills is really too big, if not self-driving, in the mountains need to take a bus shuttle East tower, Siatta and Yokota. After taking the Keihan bus (Keihan) to station on (Demachiyagani), I went to Mei Shan Electric Tetsu (Ei-den) to the eight Ryosuke Mount Hiei (Yase-hieizanguchi) and then to ケーブル (Mei) to Cable-hiei ( Hiei-sancho) Take the bus to Yonsei Farmers Temple (Enryakuji). After a few turnover, finally can get a glimpse of the most master and his hills. Then December went again, found that Rui Shan electric iron in repair, can only go from the other side of the Sakamoto ケーブル. Whether it is to meditate, worship, or simply travel, take a nap at the Farmers Temple Museum, drink a cup of Sanskrit coffee, look at the Kyoto in front of you, will make you extremely relaxed, refreshing.

  • Just in case anyone is curious, this mountain and Kurama (the other line), are temporarily closed (for probably a month or two) due to typhoon damage. I tried to go up there but they told me the stops are closed near the tops of the mountains. Edit: The website for the train lines claim they will be fully open at the end of October. Beautiful place though.
  • No pictures will truly capture the beautiful views! Well worth it if you have 3 hours spare (up and down). Varied terrain, wear comfortable shoes. I found it harder than expected, constant uphill (no flat rests), but highly rewarding!
