  • A little up there, "Jusenji" he! The temple street which passes to the north and south is the place where the temple was gathered by the Kyoto remodeling of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Many temples remain today. It was founded in 1431 by Yoshinori Ashikaga, the 6th Shogun of the Muromachi Shogunate, and was relocated to the present land by Hideyoshi Toyotomi. What surprised me was the reinforced concrete construction, which is not thought to be the main temple of a Buddhist temple. There was a phoenix neatly on the roof. The precincts seemed to be under construction.

  • I visited at the end of March. I didn't enter the precincts last year, but this year I was able to get in. Amida Buddha in the main hall was able to worship. From the outside of the temple gate, the modern main hall is eye-catching, but when you enter the precincts, the garden was also wonderful though it was a small swing.

The current temple buiulding was designed by Kokuchi KyoKo who was a chief priest of Osaka Isshinji. He was also known as an architect. It is a temple of a modern architecture which was completed in 1993. The temple was relocated to current location from Motosengaji / Ogawa ( which is farther south on Teramachi street ) in 1431.The Amida-Nyurai statue in this temple was brought from Higashiyama Ungo temple. The treasure kept in this temple are " Bukkin Emaki picture scroll " describing a war against demons in the hell and other historical record books. There is a grave of Yoshinori Ashikaga ( 6th shogun of Muromachi period ) in this temple. these statues will be shown to the public on their special open day. The place is usually closed up.
