  • It is a temple adjacent to Toyokuni Shrine. There is no building called a temple, but there is a bell that ieyasu Tokugawa is said to have caused the formation of Osaka. It is said that "Kimitomi Toyoraku" and "National Yasuyasu" Toyotomi flourished, and it is said that they started to fight to toyotomi for reasons such as the reason that they divided ieyasu's name, but the truth is in history, so it does not go beyond the realm of creation. There are many letters on the bell, but you can find them because there is a fence in the two places above. However, it might be difficult to understand that the eyesight is not so good because the character is small. I made a telephoto with a digital camera and confirmed it. Because it is a bell like the turning point of the history, it might be good to see it once. Parking is free when you visit the adjacent Toyokuni Shrine and Hokoji Temple, so you may be happy if you visit by car. There is a sanjusanmado nearby (parking fee scares you if you go there) and you can use it instead of parking.

  • I came to see the fishing bell hall next to toyokuni shrine. The temple is different though it is a similar precinct. I'm Mr. Hokoji. The grandmother who was writing the red seal of this temple was talking about the bell, and it is the thing of the bell which carved the inscription of "National Yasuyasu" and "Kimitomi Toyoraku" in 1614 (Keicho 19). The telephoto lens of the camera was clearly captured. From here, we go to Shimizu for Gojozaka.

  • Huge beautiful bell. Small place not really worth going out of your way for but a definitely visit if you're nearby. We stayed only a block away and visited a few times in our week here. Nice peaceful place.
  • ** Hokoji Temple 方広寺 This temple belongs to Tendai Sect of Buddhism. It was originally built to store Daibutsu Statue ( Gigantic Stature of Buddha ) to which Toyotomi Hideyoshi made his wishes. The temple has the 2nd biggest temple bell in Kyoto after the one in Chion-in. If you take a close look at the fine detaiols on the bell it has a lot of letters curved on its surface.
