Hirano Shrine, Kyoto

4.0
With a rare architectural style and over 400 cherry trees from 60 breeds, Hirano Shrine tops the list of Kyoto’s favorite flower-viewing spots. Established in 794 CE and long associated with the royal family, the shrine is today famous for its magnificent cherry trees. As you wander around this popular spot, you can watch locals enjoying their "hanami," or flower-viewing parties. Lanterns scattered around the gorgeous gardens provide a spectacular sight during the blossoming season, particularly at night. You can also buy good luck charms and touch a majestic 400-year-old camphor tree. Plan to visit Hirano Shrine during your Kyoto vacation using our convenient Kyoto online driving holiday planner .

  • A little while ago was to worship. Nokyo-sho you after a visit to a shrine, but was shocked when Office staff. I interviewed wanted nokyo-sho it was uninhabited because Bell had let me press called. Is not quite the reaction just five minutes again, just five minutes, and once again, total three press finally hope. I do not think, it is the telephone and visitor response and will be busy and you have to work to support non-worshippers from. I'd think, I'm sorry for the inconvenience, please. Me coming from you ask nokyo-Sho, but downright comfortable. However, affable presence not ask for another. Services I do not then. I felt sadness and regret after this response. Without saying anything to pass the firstfruits cost before you write the nokyo-sho and takes and was soon packed. Then the nokyo-sho you wrote and received your welcome back and aiming at the "money" was charged again. "You just gave is..." and says, "an unshakable Oh, I. Confusing "and I was told. Such donations provided in another box, and nokyo-sho in addition to not have anything. What's not confusing? Something went wrong I do? Understand and take on the character is sad, is said to have, from the beginning until the end with heavy-handed, as if I pass the firstfruits cost, to escape. "Observing" is just my opinion, but it only felt like sharp eyes. A mistake anyone may have. Is a verified fact or rather admit mistakes and apologize is not yet too bad I like to exaggerated or even may have felt the horror very. Shrine itself is very upright and calm atmosphere, fun trees cherry tree precinct and the name and description, and to walk it, it was a nice place. The blossoms are inherent in an out of season October cherry blossom flower is a bit was blooming beautifully. I think: I come as the season of cherry blossoms, but also if you like that thing. It is regrettable has become a shrine thought before so we want to visit and so sad and bitter memories. I hope would consistently bad mood happens to be aware of such a thing is special, but don't feel like someone else.

  • It's a smaller area then Kitano Tenman-gu for example and actually I found it by accident. Still a pretty place. If you're around you should take a look. I was there in May so there were no cherry blossoms anymore but the many trees make it look pretty in summer too
  • Unfortunately this neighbourhood shrine has been badly damaged by cyclone Jebi,a pity
