Coto Kabuki Reviews
My family and I were eagerly awaiting this show and when we finally found the place and were told by a lady that the Kabuki show no Longer exists. Sooo disappointed more »
Ich kannte dieses Kabuki "Theater" gar nicht. Da schlendere ich bei der Kreuzung beim Kyoter Zugbahnhof rum und werde von einer netten Dame angesprochen, die mir einen Flyer in die Hand drückt. Sie me... more »I didn't know this Kabuki "Theatre". As I stroll around at the crossing at the local railway station and will addressed by a nice lady that pushes me a flyer in the hand. She said that occurs in about an hour a Kabuki show in their Café and would be free today to watch this show. As an offer of a flyer distribution is of course once skeptical. Despite bad feeling, I took the trip from ca 10 minutes from Kyoto station on me to go to the Café. You must go through noren through small gang long one and then finally arrived at the Café / Guest House / Theater. Before I joined authentic I have but convince me 100% of them, that the whole thing is free here in any case. I was brought to this response in a waiting room. Here, already 4 other guests were waiting. Something to drink was offered to me. After a while, we were then prompted to go to the first floor of the building. The room where we were now, had room for about 30 people. A camera was installed, which should record the Kabuki piece. We got a small fold-out booklet to the story, just presented to us. Then it started already. The curtain went up and we declared on Englisch(!) the program of the today show. Viewers were also integrated, through questions and prompts, such as strong talk from a typical set of Kabuki in the own language of the country. So I'll have "one moment please" call very distorted and "Kabukihaft" around the room. That was really fun! It was even offered on the stage, pose to occupy an typical Kabuki, but for the entire audience was too shy. haha in the show itself, it went to the history of Kabuki, what it means for Japan as in this regard were the gender roles, etc. Then you could watch a Kabuki players use cosmetics (very interesting!). Then, there was more action. With a witty Ninja, who had all sorts of tricks and slapstick on it, about a brilliant game on a koto and of course the main act with the two lions. It was really stunningly beautiful and interesting! At the end, was able to make images with the Kabuki players together and was able to throw even a "confetti ball". All in all, went the show a good hour. Incl wait before and after that, you should schedule talks probably min. 2 hours. The price was at the time of this recession at 4000Yen for a demonstration. Who wants to learn more about the history of Kabuki so relatively cheap and want to see a small Kabuki piece with Nahbarkeit to the Kabuki players, here is definitely in the right place!
