Take a dip in one of Japan’s oldest bathhouses, Arima Onsen, a hot spring resort in a scenic mountain setting. Mentioned in documents for the past millennium, the resort offers two public bathhouses and a number of inns that feature baths for non-staying visitors. Explore the small town, check out the hot springs museum, or sample cookies made with mountain spring water. Have a traditional onsen experience and bathe in two types of hot spring waters: the “gold,” which is rich in salt and iron, and the “silver,” which contains radium and carbonate. Using our custom trip planner, Kobe attractions like Arima Onsen can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • The hot water is wonderful here after all. There aren't many tourist attractions, but there are plenty of shops from the old days, not only souvenirs, antiques and bamboo shops, but also some of them are quite entertaining. However, it is careful because it inadvertently buys too much if it likes it.

  • It is a convenient hot spring town with direct buses from Osaka, Kyoto and Itami Airport. The quality of the hot spring is different in gold and silver baths, and it is unbearable for the hot spring lover. It was easily sown because it was not so big even if I walked. There were some fashionable shops.
