Ugafuku Shrine ( Goddess of Money Washing), Kamakura

4.0
Wash your money in the cave spring of Ugafuku Shrine ( Goddess of Money Washing) and, hopefully, it will multiply. Despite its small size, this 12th-century Shinto shrine enjoys popularity in Kanagawa because of a widely held belief that the holy water inside the dugout cave has the power to bring prosperity in business and good luck with money. Enter through a tunnel in the hillside, halfway down from the park at the foot of the hill, and buy a basket with accessories. Light a candle, burn incense, and pray before you wash the money. Following a steep road, this is a 20 minute walk from Kamakura railway station. • I went with an elementary school child. I think that the stroller etc. are serious because it climbs the slope. It is said that it washes money, and it is possible to enjoy it by the experience which is not easy in daily life.

  • It is a place where you can walk though it is a little distance from the station in senhei benten which is famous for the god of money. However, because the slope to the entrance is a very steep slope, sneakers which I am accustomed to wear are recommended. I washed the money on hand and prayed for it clearly!
