#1 of 393 in Nature in Kyushu
Observe a mountainous island billowing smoke and volcanic ash at Sakurajima, one of the world’s most active volcanos, floating in the sea 4 km (2.5 mi) from South Kyushu’s hub city, Kagoshima. You can take a bus around the island to the crater or hike on the lava trail along the shore. After a long walk, you can take a foot bath by the sea, admiring the volcanic island, which measures 50 km (31 mi) round and 1,117 m tall (3,665 ft). Halfway to the top, an observatory will give you a view of the summit, where you can feel the power of an active volcano. • It's very convenient to get from the city, it takes only fifteen minutes by boat from the aquarium to the island, and the schedule is twenty-minute, 24 hours. You can take the city, bus, ferry and bus in one day. As soon as you drop off, you can go to the moon shrine next to you and ask for help. Then arrange for the bus to take the flat outlook on the station, close to the volcano. You can also soak up your feet and eat Japanese food near the Hotel Inquan. You can get to and from the city directly from the city. Volcanoes are still reactive volcanoes, which are in the ash for a moment, so it is very easy to get on and inhale volcanic ash.

  • Drive by the sea and take to the ferry terminal! How close and powerful! It is seen with the naked eye that it erupts thinly from the top of the mountain!

  • Most epic place i have ever been in my life. The bus wasnt to bad but their were a lot of people
  • The mountain itself is awesome. The bus tour sucks. Overcrowded busses and they give you like 4 minutes to dash out and take pictures of each attraction. A hop-on hop-off type of bus would be better, where I could spend as much time as I wanted at each stop and get on the next bus. But they don't do it this way.
