  • There was a pine tree which extended the branch to the side on the left hand side of the bridge on the opposite bank, and the sign board of "Spear-down pine" appeared over the Kintai bridge toward Iwakuni Castle. I thought it was derived from Kojiro Sasaki, who has a statue in the vicinity, but according to the explanation, there is a "spear-holding" at the beginning of the Daimyo procession in the Edo period, and on the highway, the spear is standing vertically. It seems to have been made a courtesy to defeat the spear and to pass in the castle of other daimyo. However, it was written that there was a rude person who passed under the castle while standing up the spear in the large clan which passed iwakuni, and the samurai of iwakuni who got angry at this planted this pine tree which spread the end to the side of the branch which became obstructive on purpose so as not to pass under the castle if the spear was not knocked down.

  • It is interesting that the large name procession of a big other clan is regrettable small clan and the losing regret of the Iwakuni clan. There's an explanation nearby, so let's read it.
