Bustling with worshippers, Ise Shrine Geku represents the outer shrine of the iconic Ise-Jingu (Grand Shrine). Drawing nearly 7 million visitors each year, this shrine remains one of Japan's holiest Shinto sites and features a small edifice stripped of ornamentation and nestled among rocks and trees. A guide from the local tourist office can provide more insight and explain the history and significance of this historic site. Ise Shrine Geku Reviews
more »I came to Visit Ise Grand Shrine for the first time. There are a lot of places to go around, so I asked a guide on the day to show me around. There are some things that I can't go around freely, but I was told to stop and explain the places that I was likely to pass by by myself. I was able to make a reservation on the day if it was only a foreign shrine.

It enshrines the Great God of Toyotomi. Toyoe Daigomi is the god of food, clothing and shelter. He is the god of food and industry invited to presides over the meals of Amaterasu Omigami. There is a Shinto ritual that has been going on for 1,500 years. It is a "Hibetsu Morning Evening Ogomimatsuri" that dedicates mikoshi (meals) to gods including Amaterasu Omigami every morning and evening. A shinto ritual held twice a day from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. every day, and two times daily from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering mikoshi at the Outer Palace Imperial Palace. The most sacred Shogu shrine is prohibited from taking photos from within its gates. It is said that Shogu consists of three shrines, Shoden, Xihoden, and Toho-den, but you can only see the roof. By the way, it seems that it is better to arrange the outer shrine and the inner shrine for the god tag and the charm.
