  西表島の特別天然記念物であるイリオモテヤマネコのことを知るにはここが一番です。さすがに生体を見ることは出来ませんが剥製を見ることは出来ます。精悍な顔つきと体つき、そして美しい毛並みはまさに山の神様のようです。入場は無料です。  more »

  This is the best place to get to know the Iriomote Yamaneko, a special natural monument of Iriomote Island. It is possible to see the stuffed though the living body cannot be seen indeed. Fearless face, body, and beautiful hair line are just like the god of the mountain. Admission is free.

  西表の自然を勉強できる。勿論目的の大半はイリオモテヤマネコ。その保護に躍起になっている事がよく判るので、動物好きは是非来て欲しい。ただし4時に閉館するので注意。  more »

  You can study the nature of Iriomote. Most of the purpose of course is the Iliomoteeko. Because it understands well that it is scrambling for the protection, the animal lover wants to come by all means. However, it closes at 4 o'clock and is careful.

  30-60 min is plenty of time to see this fun and informative museum. Only 5-10% of signage is in English. But there are videos and interactive features that will make some sense. You will not see live cats here FYI. Nice air conditioning and bathrooms but no cafe or snack area. Great for older kids but most scientific details will have limited attraction for younger kids
