  • It is about a 10-minute drive from Kiyokawaguchi Station on the Donan Isarebi Railway, but it is far from walking. You can take a walk in front of Shin-Hakodate Hokuto Station with a rental car. Matsumae is accessible from Kikouchi, but this is the Shin-Hakodate Hokuto area. With the opening of Hakodate Port, the Shogunate built a jinya in the Matsumae Domain to strengthen the defense of the remote area. In 1868, the Hakodate War was self-baked and abandoned by the hands of the guards, and now it is a nationally designated cultural property.
