Kinkoinari Shrine Reviews
more »It is a setter of Hiroshima Toshogu Shrine, and the torii gate is on the approach of Toshogu Shrine, and the main shrine is in the "back mountain" of Toshogu. Since he had been worshipped as a shrine in Toshogu since the time of the Genroku period, he probably gained popularity from worshippers of Toshogu as a god of business prosperity, family safety, and fulfillment of various wishes. The approach to Okumiya is growing from the front of the main shrine, but at the entrance there is Ieyasu's will, "The life of a person carries a burden..." and made you imagine the steep road of the approach.
広島東照宮にお参りした時、すぐ近くだったので行ってみました。革靴でしたので歩きづらかったのですが、よい運動になりました。 運動靴で行かれることをオススメします。 more »When I visited Hiroshima Toshogu Shrine, I went there because it was very close. It was difficult to walk because it was leather shoes, but it became a good exercise. I recommend that you go with athletic shoes.
A very out of the way shrine, but one of my favourite tourist destinations in Hiroshima. We had just finished seeing all of the must see sights in Hiroshima, and had some time to kill before our train took us back to Kyoto, so we decided to check out a walking track that was shown on a tourist map I was given at the train station. It was a bit difficult to find, but luckily there was a kind local who directed us to the start of the walking trail leading up to the shrine. It is a long, steep walk up a lot of stairs to reach this shrine, but the views are spectacular. I also felt a certain sense of adventure while climbing to the top as there werent any other tourists around, because it is so out of the way. This trek, along with witnessing some locals praying at various points along the track, really added to my whole experience of a new and different foreign country. Overall, I really enjoyed the hour long adventure of finding this mysterious shrine, and would definitely recommend it to any other adventurous tourists.
