  祇園駅と御笠川の間に広大な寺域を持つ鎌倉時代前期創建されたお寺です。区画整理事業により境内が分断されいます。境内に入ると鐘楼があり、また、立派な仏殿は仏さまを拝むことができます。道路を挟んだ境内には本殿や方丈などがあり、境内に入ることはできますが建物を拝観することはできませんでした。また、うどんや山笠などの発祥の地となっており、歴史を感じさせてくれます。  more »

  It is a temple built in the early Kamakura period with a vast temple area between Gion Station and Mikasa River. The precincts are divided by the parcel arrangement project. When you enter the precincts, there is a bell tower, and the splendid Buddha hall can worship the Buddha. There are main shrines and hojo in the precincts across the road, and you can enter the precincts, but you can't see the building. In addition, it has become the birthplace of udon and Yamakasa, and makes you feel the history.
