The main street in Osaka, Midosuji Street serves as the heartbeat of the city. This 4 km (2.3 mi) long and 44 m (145 ft) wide, tree-lined boulevard offers classy shopping, chic cafes, top restaurants, department stores, five star hotels, and various recreation facilities. Three rows of ginkgo trees, which change colors over seasons, and 29 pieces by famous sculptors make this popular stroll enjoyable despite the city bustle. Dubbed the "Champs Elysees of the Orient," the well-lit street connects two major entertainment centers in the city and buzzes with people around the clock, attracting plenty of nighttime visitors.
