Venture past the ornate street gates and carved lions into Nankinmachi (Kobe Chinatown) for a quick change of scenery, culture, and cuisine. The neighborhood dates back to the 1860s, when Kobe's ports first opened to foreign trade and the earliest Chinese immigrants moved into the city. A large population of Chinese still live there, and the brightly colored signs, many restaurants, and shops selling Chinese imports and souvenirs preserve their distinct heritage. Nankinmachi (Kobe Chinatown) Reviews
Quartier chinois de Kobé, tout n’est que nourritures. Des dizaines d’échoppes les unes à côté des autres. Il est sympa d’y faire un tour si l’on est lacer de la nourriture japonaise more »Kobe's Chinatown, it's all just food. Dozens of stalls next to each other. It's nice to take a look around if you're lacing Japanese food
しっかり食事というより食べ歩きがメインのお店が多いです。しかも中華ではなく神戸牛などもあるので中華街の雰囲気は薄れています。 more »There are a lot of shops where eating walking is mainly rather than a meal firmly. Moreover, the atmosphere of Chinatown is faded because there is kobe beef, not Chinese.
We just walked through China town here in Kobe and it was pretty cool. If it had not been for the fact the my wife and I had just eaten lots of food just prior to coming here, we would have totally gorged our on a bunch of yummy looking food here. China town here is fun with lots of eateries but it get crowded like crazy too. Check it out during the day if you don’t want to run into tons of people while trying to find something good to eat.
Smaller version of Yokohama Chinatown but I think the food in Kobe Chinatown are much more delicious and much cheaper than the one I found in Yokohama. The street is pretty clean and not so very crowd, I really enjoyed it. This Chinatown is close to the beach so they have a lot of romantic places for couples One thing I don't like is some restaurant staffs, they tried to invite us with so much insistence even our stomachs are full...
