Rikugien Garden, Bunkyo

4.3
#7 of 375 in Parks in Tokyo
Stroll through Rikugien Garden, a peaceful oasis inspired by poetry in the heart of Tokyo. Signage in English explains the connection between the gardens and excerpts of poetry, as you enjoy the scenery of cherry blossoms and the park's small pond. The park really shines during the autumn months, as lights illuminate the red and orange hues of the foliage after dark. You can find amenities throughout the garden, including snack stalls and restrooms. To visit Rikugien Garden on your trip to Tokyo, use our Tokyo trip tool .

  • 5/4 green day I visited for the first time. And want to go to the cherry blossom season every year, thinking it had a chance, but enjoyed this spring season than you think. I also want to visit the wonderful autumnal leaves in.

  • Went to see the light in foliage season. You can see the scenery and want to go every year, but every year I feel. I would be able to experience this once to go where you can feel.

  • Who is also a recommended Japan garden. The busy time of cherry blossoms, but enjoy around flowers and leaves the pond in all seasons. Good 10 minutes with access from komagome station. Looking at all of the parks and gardens in Tokyo Japan, but for me, 6 garden is the most beautiful garden. Our tea is small, so even 1 hour relaxing stroll if you. Southern France from a friend that Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden in the gardens of Tokyo most, likes it. Good location and natural feel.

  • Let me propose the best way here. In Spring for cherry blossom season, the best way is go and buy tickets in the morning, and wait till it's getting dark, by having lunch and dinner around. Then get into the garden. Otherwise you'll spend half an hour for just buying a ticket. Inside the garden, not that much cherry blossom than I expected. But it's well treated and organized.
  • It costs 300 yen to enter this garden but it is well worth it. We arrived in the evening about an hour before sunset. Got to see it in day light and then stayed till after sunset and got to see it lit up with lights. Absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. Hours say it closes at 5pm but was there well past that and it seemed to get a little busier at night.
  • My only experience here is a quick walk around the out walls as the park was mostly closed off. The only part I was able to enter was a small playground area. The area has benches, not many but enough for the size. There is also a restroom.
  • Cost 300 yen per person to get in here. Very nice views in here. There is a noodles shop for some hot soup, a nice tea house. Also you'll find some vendors selling food or gifts in the front!
  • One of the greatest gardens in all japan; awesome views and excellent for walking. We even encounter a little friendly garden snake. Perfect for photography.
