Palazzo Cesi Armellini, Rome

#2,265 of 2,907 in Things to do in Rome
Palazzo Cesi-Armellini, sometimes known plainly as Palazzo Cesi, is a late Renaissance building in Rome, important for historical and architectural reasons. The palace, which should not be confounded with Palazzo Cesi-Gaddi, Palazzo Muti-Cesi, or the destroyed Palazzo Cesi, placed also in Borgo near the southern Colonnade of St. Peter's square, is one of the few Renaissance buildings of the rione Borgo to have outlived the destruction of the central part of the neighborhood due to the building of Via della Conciliazione, the grand avenue leading to St. Peter's Basilica.

  • Just before the Vatican's St. Peter's Square, this is the Almellini Palace on via Conciliatone. The exterior is simple and not particularly good, but the stone and neatly lined-up windows has a former palace-like feel. Go to the other side of the wide street and you will see a panoramic view.

  • We were very impressed with the level of cleanliness in the hotel. All receptionist staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Breakfast was delicious! Hotel was very quiet and relaxing, making it so easy to sleep. We would have liked a kettle in our room for making tea!
  • From the moment we made our online booking till we departed it was a first class service. We arrived at the hotel to be greeted by friendly and welcoming staff who explained the everything we required to know about the hotel and then showed us to the lift. Our room was #205 which was very clean and the bed was excellent. buffet breakfast which had everything you would want and more. Coffee and pastries were available in the foyer from 9 till 11am every day . We experienced a mugging on our first day and the staff were very supportive and assisted us in the process of how to get emergency travel documents. There is a lovely sitting area which looks onto a lovely court yard which is floodlit. All in all this is an excellent hotel with excellent location to all the places of interest. I would recommend this hotel to anyone you will not be disappointed. One tip I would like to highlight and that is book early as this hotel is very popular. Personal thanks to all the staff 5 ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
