The construction of the Church, the aisles and columns, together with the most important monuments and paintings, complete an evocative path that will enchant even the non-expert. I highly recommend
I love San Gregorio Armeno where the beautiful cloister nuns are the epitome of peace and serenity. It is the home of the uncorrupted body of St Patricia whose blood liquefied every Tuesday and her feast day. I still remember one year when our pilgrim group was there on a Sunday and amazingly St Patricia's blood liquefied and the nuns were so surprised; and ever since then, St Patricia's blood liquefied every Sunday for the congregation to venerate. But one of the most intriguing aspect of the convent is a little known vial of blood, origin unknown for centuries, and which the nuns would check on every significant feast day to find out to which saint it belonged to. It was finally discovered that that vial of blood belonged to John The Baptist and it too, would liquify on his feast day. This year I remembered the Martyrdom of John The Baptist and wished I was there.
Entrance fee is 8€ which l found bit high but mastery of marble carvings on all statues etc are simply fantastic. It's not very big place either. No photos. An absolute must if you visit Naples , the most beautiful building I have ever been in , give yourself time to take in all the beauty and reverence. Could come here every day.
