Just to the left of the Milan Cathedral, Rinascente Milano has been a favorite of Italian shoppers since 1887. It's the oldest department store in Italy, thriving until the World War I's resulting destruction and poverty and almost drove it out of business. Poet Gabriele d'Annunzio rescued it by rebranding it La Rinascente (the reborn), to symbolize the rebirth of Italy and the store. The name took on literal significance when a short circuit burned the building down on Christmas night 1918, only for it to be rebuilt. Now, you can explore six floors of brand-name fashion topped by a gourmet market and rooftop cafe with views of the cathedral.     It is a negligible walking distance from the Cathedral (within the perimeter of the Duomo), and it is quite elegant both inside and outside architecture.  more »

    Great selection is brands and merchandise. Great to have extra 20% discount in late July by applying a virtual shopper card! It only takes 2 min.

    The best departmental stores in italy with varieties of selections. Lots of high end brands for men women and kids.....Tax refund is very fast..... great options for food in the rooftop with great views. Nice and highly recommended.
