Collezione Contini Bonacossi Reviews
Più volte ho visitato negli anni passati la Collezione Contini Bonacossi. Stamani, in visita ai "Nuovi Uffizi" ci sono tornata e devo dire che ora sono in una veste ancora più bella, le opere sono più... more »Several times I have visited in the past years the Contini Bonacossi Collection. This morning, visiting the "New Uffizi" I went back and I have to say that now I am in an even more beautiful robe, the works are more exalted. In the vast collection, my favorite is the "San Lorenzo", a masterpiece of Bernini's youth. I recommend a visit to this excellent Collection, but without hurry, to better enjoy so much beauty
Alessandro Contini Buonacossi è stato un politico ed un mercante d’arte che alla morte ha destinato la sua collezione d’arte allo Stato Italiano. La Collezione Contini Buonacossi ospitata in alcune sa... more »Alessandro Contini Buonacossi was a politician and an art dealer that his death has designed its Italian State art collection. The Contini Buonacossi hosted on some salt in the Uffizi is just part of the huge collection (the remainder was destined for the family) but contains significant works of art ranging from the 14th to the 18th century. In the rooms you can admire some forty paintings and 12 sculptures as well as pieces of antique furniture, ceramics of the Della Robbia and majolica. The authors of the paintings are of extraordinary importance: switching from Cimabue to Duccio di Boninsegna, Agnolo Gaddi, Andrea del Castagno and then Giovanni Bellini, Francisco Goya, Velasquez, Tintoretto and Veronese, just to name a few; while among the sculptures worth a quote a wonderful early work of Bernini representative San Lorenzo. Each Hall has some surprises and the museum tour is looked after very well; the only fact is related to signs with author name and title of the works, present only in Italian. For the visit you must register; is free and guided by an expert in art history; absolutely recommended for those wishing to discover a different route inside the Uffizi Museum
