Discover Bali's spiritual side by visiting Uluwatu Temple, offering some of the finest ocean views on the island. One of six holiest shrines in Bali, this structure sits on the edge of rocky cliffs rising dramatically over the sea's foaming waves. Much of the current shrine probably dates back to the 11th century, when a Javanese sage expanded and improved a preexisting but much smaller structure. A band of monkeys inhabits the temple--watch out they don't snatch your purse or other belongings. Though non-Hindu visitors cannot enter the inner temple, they're free to hike around the area. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Pecatu holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Uluwatu Temple and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

To end our day stroll in the peninsula, stop at the temple of Uluwatu... Small hike in a beautiful park, with very nice view from the top of the steep cliffs... access to the temple even not possible.... attention, many macaques pilferers, even aggressive ... and, at the end of the day, thousands of tourists came for the sunset and the Balinese dance show.View original -
Ооо это потрясающее место! Приходите к закату, фото получаются огонь! Территория большая, красивая, нам всем одели яркие саронги, вглядит очень калоритно. Мы не успели на вечернее танцевальное шоу, за... more »
Oh, it's an amazing place! Come to sunset, the photo turns out to be fire! The territory is large, beautiful, we all wore bright sarongs, looks very caloric. We did not have time for the evening dance show, went for a walk)) . The place is a must to visit, even crowds of people do not spoil it. Monkeys are more aggressive than in any other places where we were, only here on us really they attacked, took away shoes from a child 6 years old, slippers were very bright, dress in more sorority tones. At the exit surrounded her husband with a baby, or they liked the child, or a cap on her head, a crowd of Chinese saved us, literally repelled by slippers and screams. But even this did not spoil the impression, monkeys are wild animals and you should always be careful, nevertheless it was interesting to watch them.View original

The place is of immense beauty. The surroundings, the cliff beaches are exceptionally beautiful. Absolutely loved stunning views from every angle. You have to be careful with monkeys around. They are attracted to flowers and everything they think they can eat. You have a kind of a long walk along the top of the beach cliff. So worth a visit.

Great place. Views are spectacular. Not expensive to enter. Local fire dancing which needs booking separately. Everyone helpful and relaxing to see. Short walk from car park at top. Visit at sunset gives great photos. Toilets here also. Plenty of small shops to get drinks and gifts. Clean and tidy and paths are well maintained. Can get busy near the temples. Lots of staff speak English also and good signs for directions.
