Savandurga, Dabguli

#2 of 13 in Things to do in Ramanagara District
An attraction to both picnickers and pilgrims, Savandurga provides both spiritual satisfaction and leisure time. Rising 1226 m (4020 ft) above the sea level, the hills serve as a prime destination for cave explorers, rock climbers, and adventurers. The highlands offers top class climbing routes, one of the world-best. Go climbing or go on a hike to explore the wilderness of the Deccan plateau, with ample trails and tracks. Most of the trails and climbing spaces face south, which implies that the rocks become quite hot during the day. See the endangered yellow-throated bulbul, as well as sloth bear and leopards, for whom the hills represent a home. • This place is close to Bangalore yet not as famous as Nandi Hills. The trek to the top is the only way to reach. This trek is moderate-difficult one depending upon when you go. During rains, it is cer...  more »

  • The place is at a fair distance from Bangalore. It is only 2 to 3 hours journey from Bangalore. It is very good for bikers to go here. It is better if you leave early morning and start climbing the hill before the sun rises up. There are two to three temples on the base of the hill. Climbing the hill is not so easy you need much of water and also some food along with just to take breaks while climbing. it is not too easy to climb also because there are no steps to climb, you need to climb the whole gripping yourself. Overall enjoyable. Need good energy. At the top there is a basava idol. And at the temple below, there will be lunch served to the devotees of the temple
  • Good place can visit with family and friends too, temples, huge rocks, boating, etc. Sure for one day picnic. No Hotel near by at the main place as of now, small petty shops are available, better to carry your own food. Enjoyable place.
  • It's just 50kms away from Bangalore... Good place to practice fitness. Good to climb early in the morning to beat the sun
  • Good trekking place. Its one big rock mountain. Early morning or evening times is best for trek. Afternoon its very sunny so avoid climbing in afternoon. Good place to spend time with friends. Avoid climbing during rainfall time as the rock will be slippery. Very less vegetation up hill so Wear hat while climbing. Carry lot of water along. #enjoy #havefun
  • Nice Place for 1 Day trip. You need to climb hill(easy to climb as mountain is bit rough which provide good gripping, avoid in rainy season). Carry your shoes or sandals with good gripping. Avoid kids below 10 years.
