Good trip in the history of Mysores and his Regent. Especially exciting images and impressions from the official tour. The German version of the audio tour is very well spoken, by the way, perfectly translated and provides lots of interesting facts. Don't miss the garden tour!

A stunning visual reminder of a bygone era. The facade of the building still holds grandeur and a sense of history. Behind the facade things are not as well maintained. There is a vast collection of old photos, prints and crumbling mosaic and it is best experienced with the audio commentary as there are no descriptions anywhere. Entry fees can be deemed high but funds need to be apportioned if this palace is to be kept in reasonable state of repair. The separate cost for taking photographs using a mobile phone camera Vs using a digital camera is a bit ludicrous and dated and management would do well to review this dated option. The palace grounds are worth a meander through. Overall a pleasant experience but only expect to spend a couple of hours here before you run out of things to see.

Bangalore Palace, a palace located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, in an area owned originally by Rev. J. Garrett, who was the first Principal of the Central High School in Bangalore, now known as Central College. The beginning of the construction of the Palace is attributed to him. Rev. Garrett was an early pioneering educationist of Wesleyan Mission. He started the first press here, and printed literary works in Kannada too. His daughter married the celebrated historian, educationist and archaeologist B. L. Rice. Together, they have given us immortal works. Rice's bungalow still exists opposite to the Windsor Manor hotel and goes by the name 'Rain Tree

This castle is lovely. Well maintained with enough colonial information for history lovers. I didn't like the fact that i had to pay money in order to carry my camera in there, but was told its for maintenance since its a private property. The palace still allows you to re-live history.

One of the major attractions of Bangalore. A dainty palace with stuff the king had used. Privately owned and entry fee is around 250 INR for Indians. Sprawling garden. Often rented out for marriage and other ceremony, the whole ground floor of palace. But you cannot fit an ac there. Ample space for parking.

At 230 bucks at entry fee, this is the worst Indian heritage site in terms of value for money. The entire "palace" is a 45 min affair. The palace only has photos of the king's life. Nothing else. No art work, no statues, nothing. The fee included an audio tour to only distract you from the worthless visit otherwise. Please save the one hour of your life and go sit in the garden in front of the palace. You'll feel better at the end of the day.
