Enjoy some of the best views of the scenic Borzsony Hills and the winding Danube from atop Visegrad Citadel. The fortress served as the storehouse for the Hungarian crown jewels from the time of its completion in 1249 until 1440. Climb the stairs within and notice the solid rock walls and surrounding moats. Check out the displays on falconry and traditional regional occupations near the east gate. If you choose to walk, chose from two paths: one that begins near Solomon’s Tower and leads you through the woods, and another, less-steep route leaving from the town center. Both paths are fairly demanding, so consider taking the city bus up for an easier trip. Use our Visegrad trip planner to add Visegrad Citadel and other attractions to your Visegrad vacation plans.

Páratlan panorámában lehet része a látogatónak. Sajnos a helyreállítási munkák leálltak, olyan berendezett várrészlet nem látható. Az akadálymentesítés területén még sok a tennivaló. more »
You can have an unparalleled panorama of the visitor. Unfortunately, the restoration work has stopped, there is no such furnished castle detail. There is still much to be done in the area of accessibility.View original

It is a nice castle with a little bit of history. It would be nicer if it was better organized and easier for us to understand the museum. The view is beautiful. This is where the Danube makes its turn to go south and then go towards Budapest. There are also plenty of restaurants down the hill where you can have lunch after you’ve seen the museum. If you’re a hiker you can also hike or even bike around there. Make sure you go to the bobsled not far from the castle.

Nice museum with guided tour and some welcome drink. The welcome drink tastes better than it sounds. The guided tour was funny, but we listened in Hungarian, so who knows what is the content of the foreign language type.
