Settle in for a romantic sunset over the water at Two Lovers Point. According to a local legend, at this site a Spanish nobleman and the daughter of a Chamorro chieftain decided to take their lives so they could be together forever. The ill-fated lovers leapt off the cliff and into the sea below, their souls finally finding freedom in the afterlife. You can feel the romance of the tale as you look down at the clear but rock-strewn water from the safety of the observation point, which now stands out as one of Guam's best-known attractions. Two Lovers Point reviews
I came on Easter Sunday and it was closed. It was still nice to visit and take photos. Great love story and worth going to see. more »
Another rich story from Guam, it is a nice place to go to especially when the sun is setting. Leave locked-hearts at the fences as a sign and declaration of love for your special someone. May 2019 more »
Although I would argue that this place definitely has one of the greatest lookout points in all of Guam, I do think it is a bit oversold as a place you need to visit for its cultural history. In my opinion, you are simply paying for the view and not much else. While the two-lovers story is indeed a great story/legend/myth (whatever one would call it), it is a story told within a minute or two and that seems to be pretty much where it ends. And I think therein was my disappointment with all of this. I pay to get in, see a statue and the outlook, hear a story, and then all there is really left to do is look through all of the souvenirs (and I am not into souvenirs – other than the photographs I take). I would definitely visit this place again, but really just for the scenic beauty alone and not for all of the promise of something more historically and culturally that all of the hype and marketing promised. On a clear day or at sunset, the views at this place are amazing. Parking is okay (and free as I recall). Keep a sharp eye out for the turn off from Marine Corps Drive on to Route 34 – it can be easy to miss.
Great viewof the ocean. Beautiful tourist site to see our visit. Heart lock wall and gift shop are my favorite places to look.
