Mercedes-Benz Museum displays more than 160 vehicles, some of which date back to the earliest days of the motor engine. Located at the carmaker's international headquarters, the museum focuses on the company's history. Opened in 2006, the museum is an architectural attraction in its own right. It resembles a cloverleaf, with three overlapping circular structures that cover about 4,800 sq m (52,000 sq ft). Be sure to take advantage of a chance to tour the nearby diesel engine factory. To ensure your spot on the tour of the museum and the factory, book your tickets well in advance. Mercedes-Benz Museum Reviews
Very interesting exposition of history of car industry in Stuttgart. Even if you are not especially interested - as I'm not - it's worth to visit. more »
Museo ben strutturato, si parte dall’alto verso il basso. Con un utile audio guida nella propria lingua il museo ripercorre tutta la storia delle auto. Prezzo d’entrata di 10€. Spazi molto ampi, servi... more »Well-structured museum, it starts from top to bottom. With a useful audio guide in its own language, the museum traces the entire history of cars. Entry price of 10 euros. Very large spaces, clean toilets. Downstairs you can find a shop, a bar/restaurant is a "concessionaire" where you can finally get in the cars. To see!
Best museum I have ever visited and if you come near Stuttgart do visit it not only to see history of the company but of the car manufacturing as they were closely interlinked from the start and still are today! Near is also stadium originally used for Euro football and now for concerts and I was really impressed with lineup for this summer. I was also pleasantly surprised that ticket for museum is only 5 euro.
If you want to see a century-plus of automotive history through a single lens – but it's an incredible wide-angle lens, at that, given the variety of vehicles MB has built – you will do no better than this museum. Extremely well done exhibits, audio tours, and displays. (But good luck getting a salesperson's attention at the attached showroom – seriously, they must send their most customer-indifferent people to HQ for reprogramming or something.)
