The caste that houses Landesmuseum Wurttemberg, a historical museum dating back to the origins of man, was built in the 13th century, then remodeled in the 16th century into the Renaissance style. During restoration after World War II, the castle was converted into a museum. Make your way through to see some of mankind's first art and musical instruments, then peer into the Bronze and Iron Ages, up to the Middle Ages, and on to the creation of the Weimar Republic in 1919. You will see many artifacts from throughout history, including items from more recent times, such as the clock collection, the glass collection, and the Royal Tomb and jewels. Put Landesmuseum Wurttemberg into our Stuttgart trip planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

Many things are explained in a child-friendly way, for children at eye level: from the 40,000-year-old treasures from the Vogelherd Cave, early cultures, Roman times, Alemanns, medieval, Gothic, Renaissance until the end of the 19th century and more - exquisitely presented and explained. Until the end of 2019, admission is free for everyone!
