Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino, Signagi

The resting place of St. Nino, Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino houses many of her relics and currently functions as a nunnery. A popular destination for pilgrims, the monastery was originally built in the 9th century and has been extensively remodeled and rebuilt several times. Climb the hill up to the monastery to visit St. Nino's tomb. Other points of interest are the well-kept gardens and the holy springs where you can bathe and experience the waters in the traditional pilgrim's fashion. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as it's quite a hike up the hill. For cultural reasons, wear clothing that covers well.   • I suggest you visit this historical place. The place is very beautiful. I was lucky enough to visit this church during the snowfall and its beauty was even greater. The area is very beautiful. The structure of this building is very old and beautiful. This is where Nino's Holy Tomb is located.
  • Beautiful snow capped mountain views and lovely church buildings. St George church inside the monastery has amazing artworks that look to be centuries old. Also nuns here look after cats and dogs that are very friendly. Lastly even in mid November, there's a nice flower patch that is still blossoming despite the frost on it.
