A World Heritage Site, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral dates back to the 4th century and is the legendary burial site of Jesus Christ's mantle. Visit the site to learn the story that goes with the claim of the burial place of garment, which involves its purchase after Christ's crucifixion. The church, founded by St. Nino, was the coronation and burial site for many of the kings of Georgia. You can also view a 4th-century stone baptismal font, believed to have been used to baptize King Miriam and Queen Nana, and the remnants of the life-giving pillar of legend. • A very soulful place, like many other cathedrals in Georgia, when visiting which you feel calm. At the exit you can also buy a coin for memory with the image of the cathedral.

  • The 2nd time were in Mtskheta and decided to visit the Cathedral of Svetitshoveli, which is located in the historical part of the city. The cathedral on the perimeter is surrounded by a wall, which is well preserved, but the central (where the entrance to the territory) part of it is now restored. The cathedral is interesting for its rich history and great importance for all Georgian believers. Inside the cathedral you can feel a special atmosphere, you can feel a special energy, which are inherent in the ancient structures within the walls of which for hundreds of years people prayed, turning to God ... In modern new-year-et-alone, the atmosphere is quite different. In the territory offer their services private guides, prices did not ask, but given the interesting history of Svetitshoveli to their services is still worth resorting to. Next time you should definitely take a tour.

  • Magnificence. And unlike other cathedrals, there are many ruins inside. Going to know the background seems to be fun. The cathedral is very interesting if you understand the legend about Nina. It is said to be where Jesus' last garment was buried. There are many shops to see on the way.
  • Get a commemorative coin from there in 10 Lari also from there. Very good architecture and in center of old city. Outside very nice food stalls and you can get traditional sweets along with other gifts. Good prices and old city is also worth visiting. The place has big lawns and you feel relaxed
