Garden Castle Must See
Considered the most illustrious and opulent castle in all of France, Palace of Versailles exemplifies the most beautiful achievements of French art in the 18th century. This former seat of royal power now chronicles the country's past as a museum of the history of France. On your exploration of the numerous buildings, be sure to see the the lavish Hall of Mirrors, the Queen’s bedchamber, the ecclesiastical chapels, and the King's Grand Apartments. If you love books, don’t miss the library, with its delicately carved wooden and stone panels. In the Clock Room, admire the famous astronomical clock encased in bronze. Arrive as early as possible to avoid long entrance lines. Even with advanced tickets, you'll have to wait your turn at the security checkpoint. Alternatively, book a local guide service to bring you to the château and skip the long lines altogether. • The opulence of the palace and gardens is unmatched by anything i have ever seen or could imagine. It is a must see by anyone and everyone. Be prepared to walk several miles when there. The palace is stunning inside and out. I suggest doing a skip the line pass we walked right in with our guide then had a choice of doing audio guide or not. The gardens are stunning from the moment you walk out the back onto the Royal Court. Constructed in mid 1600s. Your able to look down the steps to a wide path lined with amazing statuary and ponds with amazing bronze statues in the fountains. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and so impressive, not to be missed.
  • Bypass the chateau and enter the gardens for free!! Spend your day in a rowboat on the lake, biking on beautiful trails, sitting in an outdoor cafe sipping espresso or having a picnic by the lake. Bring in a lunch or buy a sandwich from the eateries and you will enjoy it so much more than being herded past rooms of furniture with a 100 people taking pics of the ceilings!! Tickets are easy to buy either online or at a kiosk however, we arrived at 11:30 to find a 2 hour wait. We got out of line and spent the day having so much fun in the expansive gorgeous garden in back. Around 4:30 we got back in line for a 30 min wait to see the chateau. My husband and I said "that's it" after 15 minutes Inside. Trust me, your better off in the gardens having a blast. Also, be prepared for long lines to the restrooms. Perfect place to allow kids to play. A lot of walking with stairs to navigate. Doable for seniors, children and majority of people. Includes bike rental, golf cart rental and a scenic tram all very reasonable. Don't feel guilty about skipping the chateau.
  • from the buildings, I liked a few rooms, halls, and artworks, but the rest was so much naked. They've removed everything and a lot of the rooms are almost empty. Considering a 4 hours waiting in the line, the palace itself was disappointing. On the other hand, however, the gardens and fountains are amazing. You don't need to purchase the whole package ticket for it. I'd go back and spend hours and walk through all roads. Very relaxing and beautiful design. A nice place to spend time with your family.
  • One of the best places in Europe which I have visited so far. Never thought this would be a bigger place than what I have imagined. We went very late and so we have missed to visit inside the palace. You need to go before 6 pm to visit the palace but still you can get around the garden until it gets dark. It has one of the most beautiful garden with lushly green trees and Ponds. Battery cars facility is available but you need to get there early for the same. You will definitely need at least 4 hours for this place. We went by car but the place has good connectivity with the metro.
  • Wow what an amazing experience. This place part of the Versailles Palace was stunning. It was an honor for me to be able to be there as well as my daughter to witness the history of this part of the world. The people do an absolutely wonderful job of keeping things original and although there are probably millions of visitors it's very clean absolutely wonderful. Also wouldn't worry about safety there as there are quite a few police always roaming the area.
