In the shadow of Bordeaux, third city of Gironde, Pessac offers many places to discover. Only city of Bordeaux (with Bordeaux) metropolis whose name appears in a wine appellation, Pessac is the cradle of the "modern" of Bordeaux wines in London in the seventeenth century that was proposed a "Hobryan" wine, the first mention of a wine from a single vintage. You can as well visit and discover the castles worldwide search of Haut-Brion, Pape Clément, and Carmes Haut-Brion (whose vineyards are located in Pessac, but the mailing address is in Bordeaux) or even top-Bacalan which was planted by Montesquieu. But Pessac is also part of the cities classified world heritage of Unesco with the districts modern Frugès, one of the first architectural projects designed by Le Corbusier in the twenties of the twentieth century. Pessac was also between 1850 and 1914-1918 war a step of resort on the road to the Bay of Arcachon. You can see many houses from this period "charterhouses" then "arcachonnaises, these houses in the style similar to those of the old Arcachon." Don't miss the Casino district, close to downtown, where all the houses were designed by the architect Hector Loubatié. Do not miss this adventure was the construction of the city of Beaver in 1948. Under the guidance of a pretre-ouvrier, Etienne Damorran, 150 young people decided to build their home themselves. It is still today a very nice garden area. Dotted throughout the city, but rather in the South of the "road of Arcachon" are many houses, more or less luxurious, sometimes simple "the arcachonnaises" born from the crossing of the houses of the high-Moor and "the Bordeaux shop" typical of many streets of Bordeaux. Pessac also has many parks (Le Château, Fontaudin, Sources of the Peugue, Jozereau, Cap de Bos, for you walking, jogging or relax... and a thousand other attractions. But you need to earn them by staying a little on-site!
Peu de marchands mais suffisant pour un marché de proximité, bons produits , prix modestes . Allez y pour participer aux circuits courts more »Few merchants but enough for a local market, good products, modest prices. Go to participate in short circuits
