Parc Zoologique de Frejus reviews
Good selection of animals not kept to best standards but good enough didn’t see all animals advertised but most were there that’s my only gripe but overall good experience for family more »
Avoid this Zoo. The cost to enter is extortionate and the standard of the enclosures and welfare of the animals is appalling. We were met by a paddock of geese who were sharing their house with... more »
The zoo is a little tired looking but the animals are well looked after and there is a good variety to see. Zoos play an important part in the protection of endangered species and it is worth a visit. My 5 year old in particular enjoyed it.
The positives: - nice welcome from the lady tending the gates - our kids liked it The negatives: - way too expensive compared to what you get (EUR 17 per adult, EUR per child). The honest price point would be around EUR 5 per person - the zoo is unkept and smells bad overall - Animals do not seem to be well taken care of or not within their ideal habitat. Animals are kept behind big fences, something you do not see anymore in modern zoos (where natural barriers keep animals away from the public) - we spend 2 hours in the zoo without seeing a single person, guide or whatsoever. Bad from a safety perspective and it would be nice to have some zookeepers who explain to the various highlights of the zoo (if there were). -There was not even a single snack or drink point open. Overall, it was nice to go there with the kids but it unfortunately felt like a rip off as we spent more than EUR50 for 2 adults and 2 kids, as much as sole of the world’s best zoos.
