  It's really just a small walled garden where the SS executed 20 Canadian POW's a day or two post D-Day, but it was among the very first war crimes to be tried in court. Very moving place. The abbey's ...  more »

  Very moving place. The history of these Canadians during the last war is not well known and deserves to be discovered. In addition, the abbey of Ardenne, now occupied by the IMEC, Institute Memoirs of contemporary publishing, is a peaceful and beautiful place whose exteriors can be visited freely. There are also guided tours organised by the guides of the Normandy Regional Council (information on the IMEC website)
