Lake Leitisvatn, Vagar Island

#7 of 12 in Nature in Faroe Islands
Covering an area of 3.4 sq km (1.3 sq mi), Lake Leitisvatn ranks as the largest lake on the Faroe islands. Visitors come here to witness the lake's optical illusion: despite being only 27 m (90 ft) above sea level, a steep cliff in front of it makes it seem much higher when observed from a certain angle. In addition to its dramatic panorama of rock formations, a scenic waterfall flows from the lake. • The view is nice and different from other places you have visit . A must visit for traveller or tourist  more »
  • Pay 200DKK at the ticket office. I paid by credit card. The road is pretty easy to understand, so you can go without a guide. It takes about an hour to take a picture, walk leisurely, and finally climb the steep hill and you will see a superb view. There was a rainbow just out, and it was a fantastic atmosphere.
