  • Located on the Hill of Tonepair, next to the Basilica of Alexander Nevsky, is the Tonepair Castle, which is currently being used in the chamber. The grounds where the lawn spreads are beautiful. The tower at the end of the building retains the image of the castle.

  • Toompea Castle houses the country's present parliament. But more than that, these places have been the seat of power in Estonia for eight centuries, we have been told. You can't visit the building inside it but there is a beautiful garden at the back and the colossal Hermann Tower, part of the medieval fortress along the western wall. The rear part of the complex that is specifically used by the government was erected in the gardens of the castle, in 1921-22, named the Riigikogu, designed in expressionist style, making it a parliament unparalleled to the architectural point of view in the world. This corner of the city located on an elevation deserves to be visited and allows to see Tallinn from above in its ancient part, its port and the Baltic Sea

  • As a fan of Viewpoints, Tallinn knew how to tickle my fancy. At the castle 's viewpoint you get amazing views from the north side of the city. In sunny days it gets even better. Do expect crowds of tourists, but nothing too dramatic. Most are from cruisers tours and they don't linger around for too long. Enjoy!
  • A must see in Tallinn! Plan the day to see everything and bring good walking shoes.
