Lennusadam Seaplane Harbour, Tallinn

#1 of 173 in Museums in Estonia
Explore Estonia's maritime history at Lennusadam Seaplane Harbour, a museum that features a World War II-era submarine and many other ocean-related artifacts. Themed exhibits spread out over three floors tell of Estonia's strong relationship with the sea. Each floor pertains to a specific sector of maritime or naval history, focusing on the air, the sea, and beneath the sea. Seize the chance to see an icebreaker ship, a pre-World War II seaplane, and the recovered wreck of a 16th-century sailing ship. You can try your hand at piloting a plane, ship, or submarine yourself on one of the museum's simulators. Don't miss climbing aboard and seeing the inner workings of the Lembit, a submarine built in 1936 that served with the Soviet and then Estonian navies until 2011. • This is a great museum with a wide selection of display items. The highlight for us was going aboard the WW2 submarine this was excellent! The interactive stuff is well worth doing and not just for th...  more »
  • Museum fire in general. You can touch everything, play, watch, fly, listen. Particularly impressed is the part where you choose a card with the name of the hero and a brief backstory, and then listen to the story on his behalf, as he managed (and someone may not have managed) to escape the country after the occupation by the red army. And also to shoot a machine gun on the planes liked :) It is better to come early, to dinner people are recruited decently. Inside there is a cafeteria, the prices are adequate, cook deliciously very.

  • One of the best museum i have been to. Tickets was 14 euros includes both inside and outside. Highly recommend to go INSIDE. Design as underwater world. Lots of fun stuffs and interaction game to play. Not crowded. Very well displays and informative. Can easily spend 3 hours at this place. Also has a limited time Sex on the sea exhibition at the time we visited. 5 stars!
  • Interesting place. Despite the name, not many seaplanes. On show. Interesting tour of an ex Estonian navy submarine. Interesting stories from the days of occupation by the Germans and soviets. Worth a look around.
