Lovers of architecture will appreciate a visit to Fiat Tagliero, a Futurist-style service station built in 1938 initially meant to be a simple gas station. Italian architect Giuseppe Pettazzi designed the structure to resemble an airplane, which explains the wings on either side of the building. Authorities once insisted the wings be supported by pillars for structural safety, but Pettazzi stood firm in his design and the building still stands intact. Today you can walk the perimeter of the building and take photos; entrance is not permitted. Another building built by the Italians during the colonial era. Nothing very impressive. Looks like it might tumble done very soon.
