Trip Planner: Europe / Czech Republic / Bohemia / South Bohemian Region / Cesky Krumlov / Church of St. Vitus
Church of St. Vitus dominates the town with its Neo-Gothic tower, which symbolizes the might of the holy Christendom. The 15th-century church has been remodeled many times. The interior of the church is predominantly Neo-Gothic, with a 16th-century baptismal fountain adorned with red marble columns and three Baroque confession booths in the rear. Notice the paintings depicting the coronations of the Virgin Mary and St. Vitus above the Early Baroque high altar. The chapel, adjacent to the left nave, holds the hearts of several members of the Schwarzenberg family, the red marble gravestones of Rosenbergs, and a portion of St. John of Nepomuk's elbow bone in a silver reliquary. 中には入っていないが、外からの眺めはチェスキークロムロフの象徴的な建物。重厚感もあり、川とのコラボでベストショットが撮れます。 more »It's not inside, but the view from the outside is the iconic building of Chesky Cromlov. There is also a profound feeling, you can take the best shot in collaboration with the river.
A really cute church that is worth visiting if you’re in the area. It’s as beautiful from the inside as it is from the outside. I believe the photos speak for themselves. One little funny note was the electronic candle coin machine. :-)
The church sits on a mound near the Vltava River and is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Ceský Krumlov. This building is about 1340, built with three ships. On one side there is a curiously built tower decorated with small Romanesque windows at the bottom and top with a neo-Gothic style built much later, also as it rises in height it goes from square to octagonal.
