Explore Central European craftsmanship as it was throughout the 15th to 19th centuries at Museum of Arts and Crafts. The museum is part of a grand Historicist palace in the German Renaissance style that originally aimed to provide a collection of samples for master craftsmen and artists charged with the task of improving everyday items. The museum has since evolved to include the country's most advanced collection of applied art, including everything from Baroque altarpieces, furniture, ceramics, clocks, and posters. A separate room in the museum contains a number of artifacts that preserve Zagreb's pre-World War II Jewish community. Walk through using a self-guided tour with the help of translated informational signage. • The main collection is out of bounds as a result of damage done to the building during last years earthquake. The rear lower room escaped damaged and is used for exhibitions. Very interesting...

  • Basically a pretty neat museum. Loads of interesting things to watch there. Unfortunately they don't give much background info about a lot of things.
  • Interesting and informative exhibits. On my visit (April 2019), a few sections were closed for renovations. There are pieces dating back hundreds of years, if not thousands. Beautiful art, jewelry, furniture, and a small clock exhibit. Worth a visit, but not exactly thrilling, even by museum standards.
