Landmark · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
The ruins of The Forum seem to sprout directly from the city's alleys and streets. The ancient forum dates back to the 1st century BCE--during the Roman period, it was the center of the area's religious and civic life. One intact column remains, which in the medieval times served as a shaming post for criminals, who endured public humiliation by being chained at this spot.
