Vrbnik, Krk Island

#2 of 59 in Things to do in Krk Island
Landmark · Tourist Spot
Precariously perched on a limestone outcrop 50 m (164 ft) above the Adriatic Sea, the little historic town of Vrbnik was established in medieval times. Connected to the mainland by a bridge since 1980, the town was formerly a walled city. Today visitors come to see the many historic sites, including the library, a Gothic chapel, and a particularly narrow street a mere 0.6 m (2 ft) wide. The island is also known for its local wine production.
