  • It is a must see when visiting Shanghai. It has lots of shops and places to eat. In the evening there are now singers. Dancers etc. who perform short traditional pieces for the public. It is electrifying. Recently Starbucks opened two locations there. Touristy stuff aside, the architecture is marvellous and deserves a trip just to absorb its beauty. To maximize your experience try to take in the gardens at night as it is truly magical and sets off the architecture wonderfully. Warning! If you like architectural photography you may not want to leave. Planning note: It is two short city blocks from the Bund waterfront and a block from the subway.
  • This place is just plain fun. The best dumpling shop in Shanghai is here but the line are atrocious. Lots of good places to snack and eat. You have slightly better chance of getting something authentic in the shops here but the chance is only slightly better and the prices are high.
