Such an awesome experience! We did the boat tour, which was more interactive (and less work) than the kayaks appeared to be. The bio luminescent plankton themselves were definitely worth the excursion... more »
Our guide was fabulous. The kayak out to Bio Bay was enjoyable but the pictures on the website are very misleading. If you are going and wanting to see the blue glow in the water, you will not see that. You will see a light white twinkling in the water which is cool but not at all what is shown on the website. When my husband and I asked where the blue glow was, our guide said the website pictures are taken by a professional and photoshopped. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the bay and the organisms living in the bay. He then gave us an astronomy lesson on the way back. This just wasn’t exactly what the website depicted it to be. A bit disappointing.
One of our favorite experiences while on the island. It was the only tour/excursion we paid to do in our 5 days and we had no regrets. It is a pretty wild thing to experience and the bioluminescence was really active the night we went. Wish it showed up on pictures or video because it is really hard to explain how cool this phenomenon is. David, our kayak guide was great too.
