White Water Walk, Niagara Falls

Marvel at the trillions of gallons of water powering their way along one of the widest stretches of white water in the world at White Water Walk. Travel down 70 m (229 ft) in an elevator, to a short tunnel leading to the water's edge. A 305 m (1/4 mi) boardwalk arm's length away from the natural phenomenon takes you to two observation points, both with views of the Class 6 whirlpool rapids, which rage ferociously at 48 km/h (30 mph). From here you will learn first-hand how the 410-million-year-old rock layers of the Niagara Gorge were slowly forged thanks to the sheer force of the water. Make White Water Walk a centerpiece of your Niagara Falls vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Niagara Falls road trip planning website .

  • One of my favourite Niagara attractions! You can get a real sense for the force of the water as it makes it's way through the Category 5 rapids. It is peaceful in the gorge and a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the sites near the falls. This attraction is easily accessible with the people mover bus. If arriving by vehicle, you can park in the lot across the street and pay by meter or obtain a complimentary parking pass from the attraction desk which is valid while you're in the gorge.
  • This was one of the events in our 2-day basic pass, really interesting. The rushing water, creating so high and loud was incredibly surreal. It was a beautiful day and clear and couldn’t have asked for better weather. Self timed walk but there were cool little tidbits of information on the boardwalk downstream. It’s very low key, but definitely cool to experience.
