The country place is a well-hidden treasure! We park there without worry. The showroom has everything from a worldly living room, with fireplace and wide windows overlooking the gardens... or snow, depending on. It's like being received at the "right franquette" in a manor house.
We happened to be treated to a very quick and informal tasting, with no order of wine service...there was a wedding in 45 minutes, so the bartender kept grabbing bottles and glasses and encouraged us ... more »
I had my wedding at the Chateau this year. The venue as everyone can see is lovely! However, word of advice to all brides and grooms,if you select this venue make sure that you have someone there to keep count of the amount of wine bottles being opened. They will say that they'll only charge you for bottles opened, but in the end you'll pay for it all and they'll resell the bottles you already paid for. My guests weren't alcohol drinkers and bottles were being returned during dinner, but we still had to pay full amount and never got the unopened wine! Also, their changing room that they charge 250+tax for has a connecting door to where the wine is stored, as my bridesmaids and I are getting dressed a worker kept coming in to get wine bottles. Extremely uncomfortable and just ridiculous! Their soft drinks are considered open bar (350$) and you will be charged for diluted drinks that taste like nothing, although, on their menu it says 2,50 per can. Weddings are expensive and plenty of venues take advantage of such opportunities to over charge and not be honest about what they'll be offering. If it wasn't for the location and the traiteur(caterer) having great food, I would have given it a one star.
So I attended Le chateau taillefer Lafond last night as the entertainment group for a wedding. Well let me tell u something was very impressed on the venue the service was impecable and the food even though it was a buffet style was simply awesome. I want to share my opinion cause when u see staff food and location and of course a floor Manager and director of operation working with his staff shows me that the dedication is on key.His name is Patrick and let me tell u he is the real deal catering to his clients like gold.Anyways I will definitely recommend this venue to all my friends and family..5 stars and more ...thank you for making the wedding and our stay a great success..
