Bask in the landscapes painted by some of Canada’s great artists housed at McMichael Canadian Art Collection. Initially a labor of love for Signe and Robert McMichael, the institution opened in 1965 built upon the couple’s passion for Canadian art, specifically the captivating work of “The Group of Seven.” The collection has grown considerably to include First Nations, Inuit, and contemporary art. Make your way around the gallery’s four floors, stopping for a rest and bite at the site’s cafe and then heading out to explore some of the 40 hectares (100 acres) of flourishing conservation land that includes the collection’s sculpture park. On-site parking is available for a fee. Inspirock's itinerary builder makes planning a Vaughan trip simple and quick.

A beautiful setting that helps you appreciate the natural splendor that inspired many of the works in the collection. This is my favorite art collection in Canada simply because it is dedicated to the works of Canadian artists. In the summer take in a walk on the trails that connect to the conservation, or enjoy the sculpture garden. In the winter gaze out on the trees and imagine the dream of spring to come.
Gorgeous collection of some of Canada's most iconic artworks. Location is tucked within the city but feels private and isolated; even the driveway is beautiful. Check out the cemetery where several members of the Group of Seven are laid to rest. There is a charge for parking as well as entry to the exhibits. A fantastic place to be equally inspired by the gallery and the vibrant landscape.
