Zoo de Granby Reviews

The purpose of the day was to see behind the scenes of the Granby Zoo, the largest zoo in Quebec. The zoo includes 5 areas that we have all visited to mostly see the backstage or meet the animal care technicians. It is from the immense work done by all and all the equipment necessary to ensure the health and comfort of the animals that we understand that the price of admission ($40) is not very high. Whether it is fish and turtle ponds where temperature, salinity and all other characteristics are unique to each pond, or the facilities for large animals (elephants, giraffes, rhinos, etc.) kept in a exemplary cleanliness, behind the scenes reveal an organization that rolls at quarter turn, and if we add to this the preparation of all the personalized menus for each species of animals, birds, amphibians, etc., or even menus customized by individual, and this, throughout the year (it is not because the zoo is inaccessible in winter that animals do not eat!), one realizes the immensity and diversity of the tasks accomplished to offer a pleasant site to all. The zoo is accredited by three organizations that scrupulously check the welfare of the animals and the educational aspects offered by the zoo: CAZA (Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums), AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums; American Association), WAZA (World Association of Zoos and Aquariums). It is therefore not a site where animals are spared in any way and under any condition. A really responsible zoo.
Très beau zoo bien entretenu avec beaucoup d'animaux différents. On aime particulièrement les zones "contact" avec les animaux ( volière, raies, kangourous, mini ferme) more »Very nice well maintained zoo with lots of different animals. We particularly like the "contact" areas with animals (aviary, rays, kangaroos, mini farm)
My daughter loves this Zoo. Its definitely a day trip, as the place is huge. They also have an amazing water park. I would suggest going for 2 days if you plan to do the Zoo and Water Park. This way you dont feel rushed trying to get threw the Zoo so you can have enough time to enjoy the water park. It's a great spot for parents and kids. Bring a stroller if you have young kids because there is a lot of walking and it's a fun but long day for them. Every year we've gone, we've had an amazing day and we cant wait to go again. Especially now that my daughter is old enough to enjoy the water park. Great spot and worth the price in my opinion. Plus, they have a great gift shop with really cute stuff for all ages.
Large collection of animals. Their dinosaur zone is amazing with real-looking species of dinosaurs. They even have movements and sounds embedded in those artificial dinosaurs. It's pretty big so needs good 5-6 hours to explore completely. But worth spending time with kids. It also offers food court areas to sit and have food.
