An adventure from the beginning, Macuco Safari starts with an educational trail through the Atlantic Forest and reaches its climax with an exhilarating boat ride down the Iguaçu River rapids. Not for the feint-hearted, you will be taken within 5 m (16 ft) of the most famous waterfalls in Brazil. The overwhelming natural beauty of the surroundings and your proximity to it makes this a truly sensational experience. The tour guide will ensure you are completely soaked, even giving you a refreshing “waterfall bath”, so make sure you take a change of clothes. Macuco Safari is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , custom trip planner Edition.

Overall good experience. We had bought our tickets through an agency and had to exchange them at the macuco safari entrance (its the second stop once on the iguazu falls park bus). After a quick “train” ride we were asked if we wanted to do a “hike” down to the next station, but it’s actually a walk, we were wearing flip flops and had no issues. The boat ride itself is not more that 15 minutes, if you choose the wet ride which is the one that takes you under one of the falls you will get really wet. We had a waterproof backpack with our stuff in it and it was fine, but we got soaking wet. It was fun! There was a lot of information given in Portuguese at all times, and little in English. As seen in other reviews here, you won’t get close to the main falls, you are taken to one of the secondary ones. It’s a bit pricy for what you get $R230 ish.
It was great! They have 2 rides one were you get so close to the waterfalls that you get drenched entirely and one were you play with the current and do not get wet. They have lockers and showers which is useful when you do the wet one. The staff was very friendly and the views were breathtaking.
